Remember the supposed rule in college where if the professor hadn’t arrived for class within the first 25 minutes then class was cancelled?
I propose a new law:
If a worker’s computer crashes anytime after 4:00 in the afternoon, said worker is authorized to just leave for the day. The exception to this law is that if a worker is trying to hit a deadline, and hasn’t saved his work (what a dummy!), then this law applies anytime after 3:30.
Any objections?
Then I invoke the law. It’s 4:20, and I’ve just rebooted my computer after a disasterous crash. Do I get to go home now?
