So, here is a view from the bridge cam of the cruise ship we are going to be traveling on. The image is updated regularly during daylight hours, so every time you come back to the blog you should be able to see a mostly-current image.

Didn’t know we were going on a cruise? Well, we are. We leave on Dec 26th. We’ll be back on Jan 2nd. It is pretty exciting. If you want, you can see our itinerary so you can match the picture on the screen with the location we are at.

Fun, huh?!

Book club update

It’s been far too long since I last posted. The discussion on the book club has been interesting. (Most of it has been in email, not in responses to the blog.)

There has been a lot of interest in the book club. We have decided to work on a draft of the ground rules over the holiday break, and we’ll get everything up and running in January. In the meantime, you can peruse the site we will probably be using for the book club: It is currently located at http://bookclub.paulpehrson.com. (Or you can to go http://www.paulpehrson.com/bookclub. They go to the same place.)

Christina and I will propose a list of the ground rules for book club membership. We will submit the list of proposed rules to the interested parties (if you are an “interested party” let me know, and we’ll include you in the discussion), and we will work together to come up with ground rules that we (mostly) agree on. At that point, anybody who is willing to abide by the ground rules will be allowed to join the club. So that is where we’re at. Stay tuned to this blog or to the book club website for more information.

Book ClubBook Club

Christina and I were talking the other day and we decided that it is high time that we start a book club. We have been talking about this since back in our MTC Development days. I remember that we were going to start one with Katrina and Debbie Bright and Becky Beesley and Ilona and Josh Brown (none of whom work in Development anymore… hmmm.)

Well, we think that we should start an on-line book club. We would create a blog and we would have all the people who wanted be blog members so that they could create new postings or whatever. Then we could all read the same book and make postings on the blog about the book we were reading.

I think it would be really fun. We could switch books every two weeks or every month. That way we could all read a cool book, but not be bound to show up at a certain time to discuss the book (which would be pretty hard these days anyway, since we’ve mostly all moved out of Provo anyway).

So, we are open to discussion about this topic. Is anybody interested? Would you read the book and come comment on it? What should our book club (blog) be called?
